Beer and Homebrewing Pages

The Association of Brewers, the parent group of the American Homebrewer's Association and the Institute for Brewing Studies now has bundled all three organizations into one convenient site.

The Cat's Meow Archive is a great place to find homebrew recipes of every kind. This site even has a search feature built in.

Glen Tinseth's Hop Page is THE place to go for hop information. If you are a hophead (I'm not, but that's the beauty of hombrew) then this is the place for you!

This site has a lot of in-depth, detailed, and technical information. Links to important homebrew sites and is host to the Cat's Meow recipe archives. This is THE place to go!

This is a wonderfully informative site about REAL beer (sorry, no Bud here). Well worth checking out for the homebrewer or beer entheustist.

Michael Jackson is one of the worlds leading authorities on beer here is a small but frequently updated page with some tasting notes and even some Homebrew recipes!

Chicago Area Sites

• Two Brothers Brewing Company: Chicagoland's Award-Winning Microbrewery since 1997.
• Chicago Beer Society - The Chicago Beer Society was founded in 1977 as a non-profit educational association dedicated to the appreciation of beer. Today, it's one of the country's largest beer organizations.
• Lakefront Brewery, Inc.: On-line home for Milwaukee's classic small craft brewery, founded by the Klisch brothers back in 1985.
• Centerstage Chicago, Bars: Search engine on Chicago bars which selects sites based on area, style, atmosphere, you name it! A good research tool.

US Regional, State, and City Beer Guides

• Illinoisbeer: Home of the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. Great resource for Illinois beer and breweries.

  Lists thousands of North American Breweries with reviews on most.

• Cream City Suds - The Milwaukee Beer Page: Not just Milwaukee, folks! Although you can get info on local taverns, homebrew suppliers, beer stores, breweries, etc., there are links galore to just about every beer site in the world. A great reference. Set those bookmarks!
• The New York City Beer Guide: Heading to the Big Apple? Here's a great online guide to pubs, brewpubs, breweries, homebrew supplies, etc. in the region. Even New Jersey!
• The Northwest Brew Page: A guide to good beer in Oregon and Washington.
• Oregon Beer Guide: This page is dedicated to beer related places and events in Oregon.
• Washington, DC Beer Guide: Microbreweries, brewpubs, beer bars, etc. in DC and its Maryland and Virginia suburbs.

European Sites

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) was started in the UK as a consumer reaction to the quality reduction of ale in that country. It lead to better brewing practices and is one of the largest consumer advocacy groups in England.
